The Art of Effective Communication for Entrepreneurs
Two books on improving communication skills and building strong relationships
Communication is more than just words.
Research shows that words make up only a small part of communication, around 7%.
The way we say things and our body language is even more important.
They make up 38% and 55% of how we communicate.
This means that when we want to be taken seriously, we need to communicate effectively.
The first impression we make on others is formed very quickly, within just a few seconds.
For example, let's say you meet someone named Charlie who looks confident and attractive.
But as soon as Charlie starts speaking, you notice something shaky and insincere about how they talk.
This leaves a negative impression, even though they look good on the outside.
It's not just the words we use, but also our body language and how we say things that matter.
Imagine shaking hands with Charlie and noticing their body language.
All these things influence how we perceive someone.
So, even if someone looks nice if their communication doesn't match, it can create a bad impression.
So, when someone displays confident body language, keeps eye contact, and speaks clearly, it makes their communication better.
Their words and actions match, which helps others trust and see them as competent.
Remember, communication is not just about words.
It also includes how we move, the tone of our voice, and how we express ourselves.
These things provide important clues about what we mean and how others understand us.
To become a good communicator, we need to pay attention to both our words and our body language.
