I once had an experience with my Nephew.
Anytime I got back home with a new toy for him to play with, he was always happier than the times I brought back the repaired Barnstormers (a toy roller coaster) or the toy helicopter.
I had this same experience with my friends; they were always happier and more willing to hear the new gist than continue with the old boring talks we had last week.
This did not only happen with my nephew or friend, we could trace it as far back as history;
The Germans did not follow Sir Hitler because he wanted to make Germany better or pay off their war reparations faster,
He gave them a “NEW HOPE”. He told them that Germany was not responsible for the first world war and that he wanted to tear up the Treaty of Versailles and launch his “New Order”.
Even Jesus did the same too; He didn’t give his followers a better to follow the old laws of Moses and the other prophets before him;
He offered them a ‘new convenant’. where salvation did not come from strenuous mountain climbing and blood sacrifices, but from a chaste heart and a contrite spirit.
After observing these patterns for a while, it dawned on me; people will always prefer and be more drawn to ‘new’ than to ‘better’.
Copywriting and marketing mogul, Dan Kennedy proposed this theory, and this is a slight extension of it.
So, create what's new—and relevant—to your dream prospects. Re-invent the wheels don’t repair it, and you'll magnetically attract the best prospects for your product or service.
